Research workshops

The Family Entrepreneurship and Society Chair organises research workshops - Paper development workshops - bringing together French and international researchers to develop research on family entrepreneurship. In January 2017, the Family Entrepreneurship and Society Chair launched the "PAPER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP SERIE" which is now The Chair’s annual research event.

On 12 and 13 October 2020, the "Paper Development Workshop" brought together 38 participants from 5 continents for two days of videoconferencing.

Objective: to contribute to the reinforcement of the quality of publications in the field of family entrepreneurship research.

This conference of international researchers was co-organised and co-hosted by the Chair and the Groupe Entrepreneuriat Société Transformations of the Université du Québec à Montréal (ESG UQAM) on the theme "From Family Entrepreneurship to Family Entrepreneuring".

On 12 and 13 April 2018, the Family Entrepreneurship and Society Chair and the Audencia Research Laboratory organised the second edition of the "Theorizing for Family Entrepreneurship" Workshop. The objective of this meeting was to contribute together to strengthen the quality of publications in this field of research.

From renowned researchers to doctoral students specialising in family entrepreneurship, 23 participants were gathered during this two-day workshop. The programme featured fifteen international teams of researchers who presented their work at the cutting edge of current research. They were able to gather advice and comments from other researchers in the field of family entrepreneurship.

Federating, exchanging and creating synergies are the leitmotivs of this annual meeting! Focus groups, speed dating between researchers, and informal moments allowed new collaborations between participants and innovative research projects to emerge.

On 16 October 2017, the Centre d'Etudes et de Recherches sur les Organisations et la Stratégie of the University of Nanterre and the Audencia Business School's Family Entrepreneurship and Society Chair co-organized a conference on the theme:

SMEs: family business governance, emotion and financial capital dynamics

The objective was to develop an understanding of the tensions between emotional and financial issues in SMEs, with a focus on family businesses, business families and business groups.

French and international researchers presented their latest research work at this academic conference.
